Faith Circle will be collecting soup, fruit and vegetables throughout the month of February. We appreciate your continued support of this ministry. Please place items for the Food Pantry in the container under the display table in the Fellowship Hall.

Faith Circle is searching for some fun-loving ladies of all ages to attend the musical comedy, Doo-Wops and Beauty Shops, on Friday evening, May 11, 2012 at Das Dutch Haus. The cost is $35.00 for the dinner and show. We plan on leaving the church at 5:30 pm in the church van and/or cars. Please turn in your name and money to Elva Harley or Judy Gerwig as soon as possible or by the deadline of February 26th. Feel free to treat your mothers (Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 13) to a special night out.

Christian Education & Publications is sponsoring the 2020 Vision - The Whole Gospel to the Whole Church Conference at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Butler on February 25th. This conference is designed to equip our congregation with a strong and motivating desire to see our homes and churches filled with kingdom disciples in the year 2020 and beyond. The cost is $35.00, however, scholarships of $25.00 are available, making the cost to anyone from Burry’s Church/Sunday School $10.00. The cost includes lunch and all conference materials. Times will be announced. The church vans will be driven as well. Please see Chuck Horstman for more information.

I would ask that anyone who wishes to participate this year in the Burry’s Church pinewood derby, please build a new car and only use the Boy Scout car kits to ensure that everyone has an equal chance to win. The derby will be held on March 31, 2012 (2:00 PM to 5:00 PM) along with the silent auction / spaghetti dinner. The car “weigh-in” will begin at 2:00 PM with the race starting at approximately 2:30 PM. The entry fee is $10 per car, which will cover the cost of the car kit. The proceeds will benefit our youth program. Sign-up sheets along with the derby rules will be passed in the classes and will also be in the back of the educational building. Please sign up today so that the car kits can be ordered in time. The car kits will be available after February 19, 2012. Any questions, ask Chuck Horstman for more details. |
